The Carroll County Board of Commissioners has submitted its proposed 2026 Operating Budget and the 2026-2031 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to the County Delegation for review and approval.
According to the board, “The proposed 2026 Operating Budget reflects the Commissioners’ commitment to fiscal responsibility while ensuring essential county services are maintained.” The budget proposal includes a 3% increase over the current 2025 approved budget. This increase is intended to address necessary operational costs and minimal service expansions, with an emphasis on efficiency and stability for taxpayers.
Alongside the operating budget, commissioners have completed and forwarded a six-year capital improvement plan. The CIP outlines planned investments in infrastructure, facilities, and equipment from 2026 through 2031. The plan aims to ensure strategic spending on major projects, helping avoid unexpected expenses and maintain county assets.
The next step in the process will be a public hearing conducted by the County Delegation. This event is scheduled for Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Carroll County Annex located at 10 County Farm Road in Ossipee, New Hampshire. Residents are encouraged to attend to learn more about both proposals and provide feedback.
