Mike Belcher, who has authored recent legislation, addressed topics ranging from educational policy to tariffs in a series of posts on his social media account.
On February 19, 2026, Belcher discussed the focus of a new bill he wrote regarding school curricula. He stated, “Now, though not intended to replace current ‘adequacy’ requirements, the bill lists a subjects that should be focused on that steers schools away from Critical Theories. These identified fields serve to form a common understanding, language, and skill-set among students that”.
Belcher continued to address economic policy on February 20, 2026. In his post he said, “Taxes are just taxes. Tariffs function as a tax, but also as a tool of geopolitics and national security.
The Dems want to tax you through through the nose.
They oppose that these tariffs are being used to hurt their international Communist allies.
That’s all.”
On February 22, 2026, Belcher clarified his involvement with the bill and commented on its implications for educators in New Hampshire: “I wrote the bill. There is no legal jeopardy.
But, yes, if your aim as a teacher is to raise a revolutionary critical consciousness and turn kids into fodder for the revolution stay out of NH.”
Belcher’s comments reflect ongoing debates about educational standards and curriculum content in various states. Recent years have seen legislative efforts across the United States aimed at limiting or redirecting classroom discussions around certain academic theories and political ideologies. Tariffs have also been at the center of national debate as both an economic instrument and a means of advancing foreign policy objectives.
