Mike Belcher, a commentator active on social media, posted a series of tweets on September 11 and 12, 2025, addressing political discourse and theological representation.
On September 11, Belcher wrote: “When you properly understand that ‘the left’ is just the umpteenth instantiation of gnosticism this looks a bit silly.”
The following day, he commented on calls for bipartisan dialogue: “People calling for ‘dialogue across the isle’ right now are no better than the HR managers who constant want to hold meetings. It’s the absolute opposite of productivity, and since people keep getting killed we should probably be leaning into being productive.” In this statement, Belcher criticized efforts to encourage cross-party discussions, comparing them to unproductive workplace meetings and suggesting that more direct action is needed in light of ongoing violence.
Later on September 12, Belcher addressed issues within religious leadership: “This is beneath the station he claims, and is even disqualified from to begin with. He does not represent Christian Theonomy or Reformed Theology. Mark and avoid.” Here he questioned an unnamed individual’s qualifications to speak for certain theological traditions.
Belcher’s remarks reflect ongoing debates about political polarization in the United States as well as disputes over religious authority. His comments come at a time when public figures often use social media platforms to voice opinions on both politics and religion.
