Mike Belcher, a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, recently shared a series of posts on his social media account addressing issues related to scientific critique, public health mandates, and personal experiences with COVID-19 vaccination.
On August 10, 2025, Belcher commented on the state of public discourse: “Intellectual critique is getting mighty lazy and tribalistic these days.”
The following day, he questioned the consistency in responses to scientific guidance regarding pandemic measures. On August 11, 2025, he wrote: “When flawed science says to lock you inside and devastate your family it’s ‘trust the science.’ When flawed science suggests enabling freedom of choice and rolling back mandates it’s ‘we can’t use this.'”
Belcher further addressed criticisms directed at individuals based on their vaccination status. On August 12, 2025, he stated: “Hell of a way to try to discredit somebody, ‘you took the jab.’ Yep, I took one shot (when it wasn’t mandatory), and it almost killed me. I went on to run for office, won, and sat on the NH House committee investigating, and I personally authored the report, that condemned the”.
Belcher has been active in state politics as a representative in New Hampshire’s legislature. He served on a committee tasked with investigating matters related to public health policy during the COVID-19 pandemic and authored an official report critical of certain pandemic responses implemented by authorities.
