Rep. James Thibault, a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, has recently posted several statements on his Twitter account addressing abortion and educational opportunities for students.
On August 16, 2025, Thibault criticized Rep. Goodlander’s support for abortion rights and political action committee donations, writing: “26 MILLION Gen Z children have been lost to abortion, thanks in large part to the abortion mill that Rep. Goodlander’s pushing for their PAC donations. That’s a massive chunk of our generation lost, and Goodlander’s cheering it on. For shame.” On the same day, he followed up with another post referencing Planned Parenthood: “Translation: “Thank you, Planned Parenthood, for killing unborn Granite Staters.””
In a separate tweet dated August 17, 2025, Thibault shifted focus to education by promoting an opportunity from the New Hampshire Department of Education: “.@NHDeptEd’s application for the US @SenateYouth Program is now open! This is one of the best civics and leadership programs in the country, giving two juniors/seniors a $10K scholarship and a trip to D.C.! Feel free to reach out with any questions!”
Thibault’s comments come amid ongoing national debates about abortion policy and access in the United States. According to recent data from organizations such as Pew Research Center and Guttmacher Institute, public opinion remains divided over abortion rights across different states and age groups.
The U.S. Senate Youth Program mentioned by Thibault is an annual initiative sponsored by the U.S. Senate that selects high school juniors or seniors from each state for scholarships and civic engagement experiences in Washington D.C., aiming to foster future leaders through direct exposure to federal government operations.
