Rep. James Thibault, a public official, posted a series of tweets on September 11 and 12, 2025, reflecting on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks and responding to recent events.
On September 11, Thibault shared his participation in a memorial activity at Saint Anselm College. He wrote, “I spent this morning with the @SaintAnselm Army ROTC planting flags around the quad in memory of the 9/11 attacks. This is something I did in high school as well, and I’m always humbled to continue that tradition. May the souls of all the faithfully departed rest in peace.” The event was part of an annual tradition observed by many institutions across the United States to honor those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
The following day, Thibault posted two additional tweets. On September 12, he stated, “Let’s get this man fired.” Later that same day, he added another comment: “I hope this evil coward spends the rest of his life rotting in prison”. The context for these statements was not provided within the tweets themselves.
Commemorative activities like flag plantings are common ways Americans mark each anniversary of September 11th. Many public officials participate in or attend such events as a way to pay tribute to victims and first responders.
