Rep. James Thibault, a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, shared updates on legislative developments and activity at the State House through his Twitter account on January 7, 2026.
In one post, Thibault announced the passage of a bill related to liquor sales: “HB529, allowing home delivery of liquor from those with on premises licenses, and also permitting restaurants to have private parties, passes on a voice vote” (January 7, 2026).
Thibault also reported on another bill concerning healthcare coverage: “HB648-FN, which mandates insurance to cover glucose monitoring, is referred for interim study by 309-37. People who don’t need this coverage should not have to pay more for a service they don’t need their insurance to cover. Dems are arguing that your insurance should be forced” (January 7, 2026). The referral of HB648-FN for interim study means further review will occur before any final decision is made.
In a lighter note regarding events at the legislature, Thibault commented: “Never a dull moment in the NH State House, I suppose… (also, why are we allowing random dogs on the Senate floor??) https://t.co/62PjeItvkh” (January 7, 2026).
The bills referenced reflect ongoing debates within state legislatures about alcohol regulation and healthcare mandates. Home delivery of alcohol has been considered or implemented in several states as part of efforts to modernize liquor laws and respond to consumer demand. Similarly, requirements for insurance coverage of medical devices such as glucose monitors continue to be discussed nationwide amid concerns over costs and access.
