Rep. James Thibault, a U.S. Representative, recently shared his views and activities through a series of posts on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
On May 19, 2026, Thibault criticized California’s electoral system and policies, writing “Jungle primaries are such a joke. As are most California policies.”
The following day, on May 20, 2026, he expressed appreciation for his colleagues and encouraged others to join the organization Turning Point Action. In his post, he stated: “Couldn’t ask for a better team or a better job! Interested in working for @TPAction? Apply at https://t.co/4YghLSPXW4 https://t.co/zvvg5XUCBf”
Later that same day, Thibault discussed an encounter with homeschooled students in Northfield. He wrote: “Spoke to a couple high school students in a homeschooling pod in Northfield today who said they were learning much better since leaving public school. Every student learns differently and should have the resources and opportunities to pursue their most successful education.”
Jungle primaries, officially known as nonpartisan blanket primaries, are used in California’s elections and allow all candidates to run on the same ballot regardless of party affiliation. The top two vote-getters advance to the general election, even if they belong to the same party.
Turning Point Action is an advocacy organization focused on engaging young conservatives and influencing public policy.
Thibault’s remarks come amid ongoing national debates over election reforms and educational choice initiatives across several states.
