Agritourism can be a fun and fulfilling income diversification strategy, but let’s be real: It can take a lot of patience, planning, and preparation. Agritourism businesses often encounter challenges at both the development and expansion stages. Even in communities that are generally supportive of farms and agriculture, neighborhood concerns, town planning, and local zoning regulations can put up roadblocks.
This webinar will offer ideas and strategies for how to avoid and mitigate common sources of community conflict. Examining factors such as locational features, site design and offerings, event hosting guidelines, and communication and outreach techniques, the webinar will share important considerations and strategies and highlight your important role in celebrating New Hampshire’s agricultural heritage.
This program is aimed at farm/land owners and managers who are curious about or already engaged in hosting events and agritourism enterprises. Others who are interested in agritourism development, events, and rural planning are also invited to participate.
A link to the webinar will be sent out closer to the event date after registration.
A fee is charged for this Extension program to cover costs. A limited number of scholarships are available to individuals unable to pay. Please email jada.lindblom@unh.edu to request financial assistance or if you have any questions.
