The Meredith Select Board will hold two consecutive Public Hearings during its scheduled meeting on Monday, May 2, 2022, beginning at 4:30 pm. Up to $500,000 annually is available on a competitive basis for public facility projects, up to $500,000 for housing projects, up to $500,000 for economic development projects, and up to $350,000 annually is available for emergency activities. Up to $25,000 is available per planning study. All projects must primarily benefit low and moderate income persons. The public hearings will be on the following:

The progress of the LRCD/HH Limited Partnership’s rehabilitation of 25 existing units of affordable housing at Harvey Heights (also known as Deer Run Apartments), 62 Pleasant Street in Meredith, New Hampshire. The rehabilitation project is improving health and safety conditions on the property, providing energy efficiency and improving the exterior appearance of the property. The apartments will remain affordable for low and moderate income individuals for a minimum of 20 years.  Progress at the Harvey Heights (former Deer Run) project is 30% complete.  Four rental units have been completed, and tenants have been permanently relocated into those units.  Another 4 units will be completed and occupied by May 6th.  This second group of units includes one of the two ADA-compliant units.  Major systems are well underway, with tree work completed, a new hot water boiler, and new siding on about ¼ of the buildings.  Site work for improved drainage will start very soon.

NH CDFA has made available a GAP financing pool set aside of $1,500,000 for projects financially impacted by increased costs caused by Covid-19.  This is a request to NH Community Development Finance Authority for additional $232,000 in CDBG GAP funding for the Harvey Heights Rehabilitation project.  Due to Covid, construction costs have increased significantly.

Interested persons are invited to attend and comment.  Please contact the Town of Meredith at 603-279-4538 at least five days in advance if you need assistance to attend or participate in the hearing.  Anyone wishing to submit written comments should address them to the Town of Meredith, 41 Main Street, Meredith, NH 03253.
