The Laconia Water Department will be holding a public hearing on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, to gather comments on raising its rates on the base rate from $21.00 to $25.00 per quarter and the consumption from $2.35 to $2.55 per hundred cubic feet (hcf).
This meeting will be held at the Laconia City Hall in Council Chambers, Room 200A beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Operational and maintenance increases have been taking place while simultaneously the volume of water billed has decreased approximately 1.3% per year (or 7.5 million gallons/yr) over the last 15 years. The majority of our customers fall into the single family residential category and the proposed increase will amount to approximately an additional $36.00 per year per household.
Even after this increase, the average home only pays $0.97 a day for water or less than 0.5 cents per gallon
If you have any questions, please contact Ben Crawford, Laconia Water Works Superintendent at (603) 524-0901.
We hope to see you there!
