The Barnstead Police Department has an immediate opening for a Patrol Sergeant's position.
The Sergeant is responsible for leading and supervising a team of patrol officers under his/her command. The Sergeant, a first line supervisor, is responsible for training employees on state laws and department policy, as well as, evaluating the performance and growth of the officers they supervise. The Sergeant duties include: conducting investigations, reviewing reports and assigning follow-up investigations, scheduling and other special duties as directed. The Sergeant will report directly to the Captain
The Barnstead Police Department is a progressive law enforcement agency with a new police department and the latest technology, equipment and cruisers. Department employees will have the future opportunity to participate in special assignments to a regional SWAT team, newly formed bike patrol unit, School Resource Officer Program and temporary assignments in detectives or regional drug task forces.
The town is situated in the lakes region with a population of 5,000 residents which, increases significantly during the summer months.

Requirements
Qualified applicants must already be a Certified Police Officer with a minimum of five years experience and must successfully complete all elements of the Barnstead Police Department selection procedures.
Selection procedures include, but are not limited to: interview(s), background investigation, physical fitness testing (see https://www.pstc.nh.gov/faq/index.htm#fitnesstest for qualifying requirements), medical fitness testing, psychological screening, and polygraph examination, some of which, may be waived at the discretion of the Chief of Police.
